## Grade 7 Math

We will always begin class by correcting our previous day's work. You can check your work by using the answer key in the back of your book. Don't cheat!! Make sure you understand how to solve each problem. If you are not sure the problem was solved, you can:

Make sure that you stay up-to-date! It is very difficult to be successful in math if you are constantly 2 or 3 lessons behind the rest of the class.

You should work on your math at home

You can click on the chapter links to access outcomes, vocabulary, class notes, teaching videos and assignments for each chapter. Have fun learning some new concepts in math! Challenge yourself to apply these concepts in your everyday life!!

- Ask me for some help (remember - my job is to make sure you understand math this year!!) or
- Look up the solution in the answer binder.

- Study math vocabulary. You can make cue cards, use graphic organizers, or complete crossword puzzles.
- Review class notes and class example problems.
- Watch teaching videos.
- Rework previously completed math questions (e.textbook problems, class examples, old assignments, quizzes and tests). Remember - you are responsible for ALL the material taught the ENTIRE year - it is a good habit to spend some time reviewing material that was covered many months ago.

**Illustrated Math Vocabulary Links:****Online Math Practice**- IXL Math - Topics are organized by grade level (linked to Canadian math outcomes). Students can practice for about 10 minutes a night for free, and come back again the next day :)
- Math Prodigy - FREE! Students practice math in a video game environment. Their teacher can check to their progress!
- Khan Academy - FREE! Students begin by completing a self-assessment. Then, the site will set up a program at their level. It includes teaching videos and practice questions.
